Duke of Edinburgh Licensed Centre

Ysgol Ty Coch is a directly licensed centre of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. We received our centre licensing in March 2016 presented at St James Palace by Greg Davies.

We are currently delivering, Bronze, Silver & Gold Awards. The Award is achieved by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections (five for Gold.)
 

Volunteering - helping someone, your community or the environment 

Physical - becoming fitter through sport, dance or fitness activities

Skills - developing existing talents or trying something new 

Expedition - planning, training for and completing an adventurous journey 

Residential (Gold only) - staying and working away from home as part of a team

The length of time spent on each section depends on the level of programme being completed.  

Ysgol Ty Coch has two BEL trained expedition leaders, who are also registered DofE assessors with outdoor first aid qualifications.
