Signalong

Signalong is used throughout the school, there is  one member of staff who is a Signalong trainer and she has delivered training to staff using  the Signalong Foundation Course. Signalong is an augmented communication system which can be used highly effectively to support people of all ages who have communication and learning disabilities. It is a key word sign-supported communication system based on British sign language and is used in spoken word order. It uses speech, sign, body language, facial expression and voice tone to reference the link between sign and word. 
Signalong assists with language development. It uses one sign per concept, one concept per sign. Signalong has published over 8,000 signs since 1992 and offers a much wider vocabulary, enabling a wider range of opportunities for users.
