Diversity
The school is on a journey towards becoming more aware of diversity. It is currently involved with the SEN project with DARPL. The DARPL website has resources and videos to use for training, https://darpl.org/courses/
Some members of WLT and SLT have undertaken Senior Leadership Training from DARPL.
The school has had whole school staff training in Give Racism the Red Card. Libby Carey is the school champion for Diversity. The school has an anti-racist policy and is committed to considering curriculum and practices to ensure that they are not just non- racist but effectively anti-racist. As the school moves towards this, resources should be considered with an anti-racist view to incorporate visuals showing different minorities. The school undertakes heritage days once a term and engages in Black History Month.
It is essential that if there is bullying which has a racist element to it, this needs to be recorded accurately, SLT need to be informed and then a plan formed to ensure this is addressed.

The school will not minimise it or invalidate it if someone has commented in a racist way.

The school considers when teaching the lens of which it teaches the curriculum – are we ensuring a decolonised and anti- racist curriculum?
