ELSA

As a school we ensure that our pupils emotional needs are met. For most pupils this will be through the PSE curriculum and  the supportive, caring environment which is fostered at YTC.

Some of our staff are trained as ELSA's ( Emotional Learning Support Assistant).For some pupils they  may need additional support and this may be  in the form of individual work or group work for a short period of time  with a trained ELSA working on  a specific emotional need. There are six ELSA's in the school who work  in their departments, bringing their ELSA expertise alongside their role in that area.
